Super League wrap: UJ and Sundowns Ladies seal consecutive wins

UJ Ladies and Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies wrapped up match-day two of the Hollywoodbets Super League with impressive and comfortable wins at the weekend.

Match-day two closed off with 19 goals from all games played, starting off with the midweek game between Sundowns Ladies and Ma-indies Ladies.

Sundowns Ladies secured their second win of the season in the 3-1 victory against Ma-indies at Groenkloof Stadium, while UJ Ladies hammered Coal City Wizards 5-1 at the UJ Stadium in Soweto, on Sunday.

UJ’S 5-0 THRILLER AGAINST COAL CITY WIZARDS

It was UJ’s second win of the second Super League season. The goals came from Mibe Adielle [64’], Siphomelele [70’], Thobelihle [75’], [87’], and Shakeerah Jacobs [85’].

UJ started the game on the front foot, with the ball possession and chances created favouring them.

Despite UJ being dominate in all areas of the game, the Orange Army were not clinical in front of goals in the first half.

The Coal City Wizards goalkeeper, Princess Ngqwala, also put out an impressive performance in the first half to try keep UJ from scoring.

However, Ngqwala got injured towards the end of the first half, and had to play the rest of the game with an injury.

Second half, UJ came back rejuvenated and goals started pouring in. The UJ technical team made an impactful change and brought in the Shamase twins.

Thobelihle Shamase and Siphomelele Shamase transformed the game and injected a different flair and goals to the UJ’s attack.

The Shamase twins were involved in every single attack UJ had in the second half. Between the two of them, they score a hat-trick of goals which helped UJ secure their 5-0 win against CCW.

THE REST OF THE RESULTS IN THE SUPER LEAGUE FOR MATCH-DAY TWO

TS Galaxy Queens won their first ever game 3-1, in the Super League against the University of Pretoria Ladies.

On the other hand, Royal AM and First Touch FC played to a stalemate with no gaols.

On Saturday, TUT FC won 3-1 against Copperbelt Ladies, and Thunderbirds lost 3-0 to Durban Ladies.
