Maritzburg, Black Leopards tracking Jwaneng Galaxy sensation
Maritzburg United and Black Leopards are reportedly angling for the services of Zimbabwean sensation Daniel Msendami, currently in Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy books.
A club in Tanzania and another one in Qatar are also said to be interested in the speedy winger.
Msendami has been thriving well under the mentorship of coach Morena Ramoreboli who is in charge of the ambitious club.
So far, the 22-year-old has scored five goals in the 12 matches where he also provided commendable six assists.
His contribution has been vital in Jwaneng Galaxy’s ambition to win the championship. They are currently joint log-leaders with Gaborone United.
The two sides are tied at 37 points apiece. And it is in this intriguing championship race that the Highlanders product has shone like a bright star.
While aware that a number of clubs are tracking him, Msendami has kept calm and dedicated to Jwaneng Galaxy’s cause.
WHAT DANIEL MSENDAMI SAID ABOUT THE INQUIRIES
“It has been brought to my attention that inquiries have been made about my availability to the club,” Msendami is quoted by the Chronicle.
“As I play I know that there are people who are following me week in week out. This makes me work even harder.
“From the briefing I’ve received from the officials, there are a number of teams from South Africa. One is in Tanzania and another one in Qatar. They want me to join them after the end of the season.
“It will all depend on what they agree with the club. I’ll not worry much about that but keep on playing well.
“I want to repay Jwaneng Galaxy for the faith they had in me. They took a risk signing me from Division One.”
The exciting winger missed on a oppurtunity to play for Highlanders in the topflight club. Nevertheless, the fact that he was overlooked by his boyhood club has been his main motivation.
“Besides getting motivation from seeing my former juniors’ teammates in the first team gave me hope that one day. I told myself that I’ll make it into the senior team as well.
“Seeing some of the players I knew I was better than them playing in the Premiership also kept me motivated.
“When I went to Vubachikwe, I gave it my all knowing that one day I’ll get a break.
“I now have that opportunity and I’m using it. My time at Jwaneng Galaxy is a stepping stone for my career,”Msendami added.
Initially he was sent on a loan-deal but he quickly impressed and Jwaneng Galaxy signed him permanently.
