Vilakazi breaks his silence after Galaxy exit, dismisses Ramovic’s claims

"The coach said I'm no longer on his plans and I'm no longer useful to his his tactics."

Former Mamelodi Sundowns star Sibusiso Vilakazi has broken his silence in the wake of his bizarre TS Galaxy exit while also dismissing the claims made by his former coach Sead Ramovic.

Vilakazi had joined TS Galaxy at the beginning of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season from Sundowns, but the midfielder was released barely six months at his new club.

Galaxy head coach Ramovic recently told the media that Vilakazi was not putting in enough effort at training; hence the player was not his favourite.

However, the 33-year old attacker has refuted Ramovic’s remarks, insisting that he always did his best at training.

“The coach [Sead Ramovic] told me to go to the club president [Tim Sukazi] to decide the way forward,” said Vilakazi in an interview on Marawa Sports Worldwide.

“We then decided to settle our matter, shake hands and separate immediately. The coach said I’m no longer on his plans and I’m no longer useful to his his tactics.

“I remember at some point, they told me to go train with the club’s DStv Diski Challenge team, which I appreciated and said to myself, maybe it’s a lesson that I need to go about it; I didn’t ask questions.

“And after sometime, I thought maybe now I’ve learned my lesson, let me engage back and try to find what’s the plan going forward.

“I apologised to the coach if I disrespected his training sessions and tactics, and now I’m ready to come back and help the team,” added the former Bafana Bafana international.

With his experience, Vilakazi said that he felt he could add value to the club and insisted that he respected Ramovic’s tactics and decisions regarding team selections.

In Galaxy colours, Vilakazi made 10 appearances in the league with zero assists and goals.

Vilakazi further stated that he has always been a true professional that gives his best at training and on the playing field

“I’ve never trained in a way that I was not raising my hand to the coach and whatever that happened that is up to the coach,” Vilakazi added.

The 2013/14 PSL Player of the Season also revealed that he’s currently training with Sekhukhune United.

“I’ve started training with Sekhukhune just to get to see how they do things there and have open view of everything they do before taking further steps.”
