Super League: Sundowns Ladies return to summit, Royal AM win

Match-day three in the Hollywoodbets Super League closed off with a Royal AM win over Copperbelt Ladies, and Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies extended their winning streak against First Touch.

The Super League did not disappoint with 21 goals scored across all eight games played this past weekend.

On Sunday, Sundowns extended their winning streak to three out of three wins this season against First Touch.

The defending champions’ goals came from Daweti [8’] Boitumelo Rabale [90+1’] with Twala [85′] netting for First Touch.

ROYAL AM VICTORY OVER COPPERBELT

In the televised Super League fixture between Royal AM and the newly promoted Copperbelt, Royal AM grabbed their second win of the season, winning 3-1 against their Limpopo counterparts.

Royal AM opened the scoring with a goal from Julia Lepheane in the 23rd minutes, followed by an equaliser from the home side just after half time.

After the equaliser from Copperbelt, the visitors came back with two more goals from Nomvuyo Bhengu [59’], and Kgalebane Mohlakoana [75’].

The win moved Royal AM second on the log, with seven points, just behind Sundowns, who are on nine points.

However, the home side dropped from 9th to 11th position, after failing to win a game since match-day one, against UP.

THE REST OF THE SUPER LEAGUE GAMES…

On Saturday, Richmond United smashed Durban Ladies 5-2 at home. UWC ended UJ’s winning streak, beating them 2-0 at home.

Coal City Wizards is still without a win this season after a 1-1 draw at home against Thunderbirds.

And UP’s haunt for a win in the Super League continues as they played to a 0-0 stalemate away from home to City Lads.

On Sunday, TS Galaxy registered their second win of the season in the Super League at home against TUT. And Ma-indies remain rooted at the button of the table after 1-0 to JVW FC.
