The areas of concern Truter needs to fix at Sekhukhune United 

Sekhukhune United head coach Brandon Truter has pointed out the areas of concern his side must fix and improve on to challenge for the DStv Premiership top-eight finish.

The ex-Swallows and AmaZulu mentor reckons that his troops need to improve their failure to convert clear-cut chances, decision-making on the ball, andbox entries. 

And according to Truter, the best way to fix these challenges is for the players to put in extra effort and work hard at training sessions.

“There can be improvements here and there, especially with the decision-making on the ball,” Truter told the club’s media department. 

“But our biggest problem is the last entries and also the scoring of goals. 

“We have also managed to keep a couple of clean sheets. Our defence is capable of grinding out that clean sheet.

“So, the areas we definitely need to work on are of missing and scoring and also our box entries.”

BRANDON TRUTER ON THE IMPORTANCE OF NOT CONCEDING 

‘Brakkies’, as he is popularly known within the football circles, further explained that the advantages of not conceding put them in a better position to win their game. 

“The less our opponents scores against us the better. It also increases our chances we have of winning the game,” he added. 

“But if we don’t score also, it minimises that chance of winning our games. 

“Nevertheless, our rotation and possession of the ball are getting better, and awareness and individual tactics there can be improvements.”

Currently, Sekhukhune are placed seventh on the log standings with 27 points from 21 outings. 

The Limpopo-based outfit’s next assignment will be against Royal AM away from home on Saturday, 4 March 2023. 

The kick-off is scheduled for 17h45 at Chatsworth Stadium.
