How Kudakwashe Mahachi is dealing with the frustration of lengthy lay off
Kudakwashe Mahachi’s agent has revealed how the former SuperSport United winger is dealing with the frustration and boredom that comes with the lengthy lay off.
The 29-year-old fell by the wayside last year in May when SuperSport United suspended him following a scandal with his ex-wife.
SuperSport CEO Stan Matthews told Mahachi that his contract would not be renewed.
At that point, the former Orlando Pirates attacker was facing attempted murder charges in Zimbabwe.
Mahachi was being accused of attempting to kill his son while they were together in Johannesburg.
He was acquitted in November 2022 on grounds that the evidence given by witnesses was contradictory and disjointed.
However, since being acquiited, the Zimbabwean star has struggled to get a new club in the DStv Premiership.
HOW MAHACHI IS DEALING WITH THE FRUSTRATION AND BOREDOM
Initially, he was linked with Maritzburg United but nothing fruitioned between the two parties.
His agent, Gibson Mahachi confirmed to FARPost that there are no offers to consider at the moment.
The agent revealed how he has ensured that his player deals with the frustration and boredom of not playing.
“For now, we can only wait. I’m not yet in a position to confirm anything. There’s nothing but I have told him to develop new habits.
“Going to church frequently and gym interactions will help him get rid of the boredom.
“Reading books and keeping his mind active will also go a long way in helping him stay grounded. Above all, relentlessly training himself is a must.
“I talk to him often, because his state of mind is so important at this point, that he is waiting for his return to full-time playing,” he said.
Kudakwashe Mahachi’s agent is hoping to secure a club for his player in time for the 2023/24 season.
