Update on Terrence Dzvukamanja’s contract situation

Orlando Pirates attacker Terrence Dzvukamanja’s management team would have been curious about his contract situation.

The Zimbabwe international was almost shipped out in January, with game time limited under Jose Riveiro. An impressive run saw him claw his way back into the team.

However, his current deal at the club comes to an end in June. The curtain comes down on the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season in May.

Dzvukamanja joined Pirates at the start of the 2020/21 season from Bidvest Wits. The Students who sold their topflight status to Tshakuma Tsha Madzivhandila on the brink of their centenary celebration.

The 28-year-old forward has made 10 appearances in all competitions for Pirates and scored three goals while contributing one assist.

TERRENCE DZVUKAMANJA SET TO PEN NEW DEAL

With the July transfer window looming large, Dzvukamanja looks set to pen a new deal at Pirates. Although formal talks have not begun, a source close to the player said the technical team have been impressed with his work rate.

The Warriors attacker, according to the source, is in the plans of Coach Jose Riveiro for the coming season.

“Terrence Dzvukamanja had a tough start to the season,” a source close to the player told FARPost.

“Even though he had a few injury setbacks, his lack of game time was concerning. He was supposed to leave Pirates in January.

“But it looks like since he broke into the Pirates’ starting line-up in January, the coaches have been impressed with his work rate.

“So we can expect Dzvukamanja to be kept for the next season because you can see he has brought a new dimension in that attack,” added the source.

The former Ngezi Platinum striker is competing with Kermit Erasmus, Beinvenu Eva Nga, Evidence Makgopa, Ndumiso Mabena and Souaibou Marou for the starting berth in the Pirates’ striking department.

Dzvukamanja has won two MTN8 trophies with the Buccaneers since joining the club in 2020 from Wits.
