PSL announce Player and Coach of the month awards

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has announced the DStv Premiership Player and Coach of the month awards winners for February/March.

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena and Stellenbosch forward Iqraam Rayners walked away with Coach and Player of the Month awards respectively.

Mokwena has been rewarded for guiding his side to an impressive winless run in the DStv Premiership for both February and March.

Sundowns played three league matches in February/March and claimed two victories while they drew one.

Masandawana kicked off the month of February with a 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates, drew 1-1 with Stellenbosch in March and thereafter thrashed Royal AM 5-1 in the same month.

Mokwena beat SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt and Steve Barker of Stellenbosch to the accolade.

The Soweto-born tactician was winning the award for the second time in a row this season after he grabbed it in December/January.

IQRAAM RAYNERS AWARDED FOR HIS GOAL SCORING FORM

Meanwhile, Rayners got the rewards for his impressive form in front of goals since rejoining Stellies from SuperSport United during the January transfer window.

Rayners scored five goals in four matches in February/March since his return to the Western Cape side.

The pacey forward helped Stellenbosch climb up the league table after they endured a tough start to the 2022/23 season.
