Romain Folz’s honest feelings about current state of AmaZulu
AmaZulu FC head coach Romain Folz has divulged his honest feelings about the current state of his side.
Folz was speaking during the club’s media open day on Wednesday at Kings Park Outer Fields.
AmaZulu have had a bad run lately, losing three of their last five matches in all competitions. This includes a defeat to the third-tier side Dondol Stars in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals.
When asked about his feelings about where the club is right now, Folz was frank that he is unhappy.
ROMAIN FOLZ’S FEELINGS ABOUT AMAZULU’S CURRENT STATE
“About where the team is right now, we’re not feeling happy about it,” he said.
“But we know what to do to fix it, so we’re looking forward to the next seven games and give the best performances that we can.”
However, the 32-year-old mentor is confident that they can pick themselves up in the last seven games of the DStv Premiership.
He also stated that they have had some positives before and that not everything was going south.
‘WE DON’T PUT EVERYTHING IN THE TRASH’
“I’m positive that we’re able to identify the problems that we gave to fix,” he added.
“There’s a lot of points that we need to understand and rectify.
“But I strongly believe that there’s gonna be a new change going into the last seven games of the season based on what you saw in the last two.
“We don’t put everything in the trash as well, there’s a lot good things that we did before.
“There were some very good games for us, leading to very good results, prior to those games.
“So, we don’t put everything in the trash. If you analyse things based on emotions and starting to panic, it’s always gonna be detrimental towards what you want to achieve.
“So, we look at everything with a cool head, trying to analyze what we have to identify.
“We have been able to identify what we need to rectify and we’ll be able to do that.
“So, it’s gonna be very interesting to see how we’re at. And I have no doubt that not just that game [against Swallows] but for the last seven games, we gonna show a different sideways.”
AmaZulu will take on Swallows on Saturday, 01 April in a league match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium at 20:00.
