The KZN-based side, Richards Bay FC will be eager to turn their fortunes and cause an upset against the Soweto giants at King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday, 01 April 2023 [3:00pm].
Richards Bay FC had a dream start to the their maiden season in the PSL. The great start saw the team spend the better part of the first round in league in second place behind Mamelodi Sundowns.
However, Richards Bay FC have seemingly hit a dip in form, prompting the club to make changes in the technical team.
Vasili Manousakis has been appointed as the sole head coach. Meanwhile, Pitso Dladla has been demoted to the assistant coach role.
Richards Bay have won eight games in the league, drawing seven and losing on eight occasions after 23 games.
They are currently positioned sixth on the league table with 31 points.
Despite suffering a 4-0 loss against TS Galaxy before the FIFA international break, Maphathe is confident of getting positive results against Pirates.

“FIFA break has helped us to work on few elements of our game,” Maphathe said in a conversation with FARPost.
“We haven’t been doing well lately in the league. And it’s something that we all want to change to start getting positive results.
“Also we know that Pirates haven’t been that consistent in the league, they have been dropping points.
“So we know what we have to do to win against Pirates.
“The good thing is that everyone in the team believes that we can do it,” added Maphathe.
