Brandon Truter puts in good word for Mphahlele and Buchanan

Sekhukhune United head coach Brandon Truter has put in a good word for AmaZulu’s recently departed players Ramahlwe Mphahlehle and Keagan Buchanan.

Truter was speaking after Sekhukhune’s DStv Premiership 0-0 draw against Golden Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday, 02 April.

He came out in defence of Mphahlele and Buchanan after they were accused of being the rotten apples in the AmaZulu group.

Buchanan and Lehlohonolo Majoro are said to have played a major role in getting Benni McCarthy sacked.

While along with Mphahlele, the duo was also said to have ganged up against Truter.

However, Truter has insisted that Mphahlele and Buchanan were not involved in creating division in the dressing room.

He spoke highly of them, saying they’re good human beings and he hates seeing their reputation being tarnished.

“I have to set the record straight with Rama [Ramahlwe Mphahlele] and Keagan Buchanan as well,” he told journalists.

“I never had problems with those players. They’re good human beings.

“They were not the ones that gave the coaches the problems. So I’m not too sure where that comes from.

“I hate it when the players’ reputation gets tarnished, especially when my name is involved as well.

“Rama wasn’t here with Benni and I saw an article that Rama was also one of the players that were against Benni.

“So, Rama is a good human being, matured player, and experienced. He has played for big clubs as well.

“Keagan Buchanan, the same. They’re not the ones that are controlling players at AmaZulu.”

Meanwhile, ‘Brakkies’ went on to add that he still maintains a good relationship with AmaZulu.

However, he admitted that the club has problems at the moment.

“I think I still have a good relationship with the club,” he added.

“They are still the people that I do talk to. I think Mr. Zungu and I departed on good terms.

“He made it clear that one day he would like to work with me again.

“And for me, for sure, I think AmaZulu are a marvelous club with a good culture and good tradition as well.

“But their problem at this moment, there are problems.”
