Struggling Motsepe Foundation side fined by PSL

Struggling Motsepe Foundation Championship side, Black Leopards, have been fined by the PSL.

This comes after Lidoda Duvha failed to provide a public address system. This happened during their home league match against arch-rivals Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila [TTM] on the 9th of April, 2023.

The game took place at Thohoyandou Stadium. Leopards appeared before the PSL Disciplinary Committee [DC] today and pleaded guilty as charged.

Owen Da Gama’s side is fined an amount of R50 000, half of which is suspended on condition that they do not commit the same offence during the period [24 months] of the suspension.

The Limpopo-based outfit were further ordered to pay the costs of the DC sittings.

BLACK LEOPARDS FINED BY PSL

“I can confirm that earlier this morning, Black Leopards appeared before the PSL DC to answer to charges of failure to provide a public address system in their home match against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila on 9th of April 2023 at Thohoyandou Stadium,” said the PSL prosecutor Zola Majavu.

“They pleaded guilty as charged, and having listened to the submissions from both the prosecutor and their legal representative, the PSL DC sanctioned Black Leopards as follows;

a) A monetary fine of R50 000, of which half is suspended for a period of 24 months on condition that they’re not found guilty of a similar offence again.

b) They were further directed to carry the costs of the DC sittings.”

RELEGATION LOOMING

As things stand, Leopards are languishing at the basement of the South African football second tier. They have collected 22 points after 27 outings.

By the looks of things, the chances of Leopards surviving the chop are very slim.

The club’s next assignment will be against Platinum City Rovers on Friday, 28 April, away from home.

The kick-off is set for 15:00.
