Swallows issue an update on Keegan Allan

DStv Premiership side Swallows have offered an update on the injury sustained by defender Keegan Allan during their league match against Kaizer Chiefs on Monday. In a moment that caused panic amongst players, officials and fans at Peter Mokaba Stadium, Allan lost consciousness towards the end of the 2-1 victory.

Two ambulances had to be called onto the pitch while the doctor from both Swallows and Kaizer Chiefs attend to him. The 22-year-old was subsequently taken off but struggled to walk by himself afterwards. He received a standing ovation from the supporters and his teammates as he walked off the pitch.

MUSA NYATAMA APPLAUDS SPORTSMANSHIP

Swallows coach Musa Nyatama has applauded the sportsmanship from Chiefs as well as the referee Cedrick Muvhali.

“That was very good coming from our colleagues,” Nyatama told the media.

“You could see how everyone was just urgent to go and help the player. The life of the player is more important than the game. It’s more important than anything.

“So we say thank you to them for also helping out. In as much as they are losing the match at that moment they could see that the boy is lifeless. So they needed to help him.”
