Kamohelo Mokotjo’s verdict on DStv Premiership youngsters
Sekhukhune United‘s Kamohelo Mokotjo has given his verdict on DStv Premiership youngsters following the conclusion of the 2022/23 season.
In the past seasons, only a few youngsters were lucky to make a breakthrough to their respective first teams.
However, the just-ended campaign was a different and interesting one. It witnessed many teams handing youngsters senior debuts and some game time.
For example, Kaizer Chiefs had the duo of Mduduzi Shabalala and Samkelo Zwane, Orlando Pirates had striker Relebohile Ratomo, and Mamelodi Sundowns had the midfield duo of Siyabonga Mabena and Ntando Nkosi.
Shabalala was impressive for Amakhosi, and the 19-year-old became a regular player in the starting line-up. He played 22 matches in all competitions, scored two goals and provided two assists.
