Quiet day at the office for Bongokuhle Hlongwane

It was a rather quiet day at the office for Bafana Bafana star Bongokuhle Hlongwane as his Minnesota United suffered defeat in the MLS on Thursday morning.

Hlongwane, who has been the go-to-guy for the Loons this season, couldn’t effect the game as his side eventually went down 2-1 to Austin FC at the Q2 Stadium.

The South African has not had many quiet days at the office this season, churning out some impressive performances for Adrian Heath’s side more often than not.

RARE QUIET DAY FOR BONGOKUHLE HLONGWANE

The former Maritzburg United forward, in-fact, has been in arguably the form of his life since the start of the season, scoring goals for fun in the Black and Blue.

Hlongwane is currently the Loons’ top goal scorer so far this season with six goals in 16 appearances in all competitions, and has also provided one assist in the process.

The South African could be afforded a rare quiet day having been extremely consistent with his good performances so far this season for the Loons.

It was Minnesota’s sixth defeat this season and it leaves them sitting in seventh spot on the Western Conference table with 19 points from 15 matches.

They are seven points behind leaders Seattle Saunders and six behind Njabulo Blom’s St Louis City who are currently in second place and enjoying a dream debut campaign.

HLONGWANE’S MINNESOTA HOPE TO BOUNCE BACK

Hlongwane’s Minnesota will look to put their last result behind them and bounce back to winning ways when they face Toronto FC at Allianz Field on Sunday morning.

Hlongwane will also hope to quickly regain his mojo and rediscover his scoring form as he looks to continue his impressive start to the campaign for the Loons.
