Polokwane City make first signing following promotion to top-flight
Newly promoted DStv Premiership side Polokwane City have bolstered their squad ahead of the new season, signing an attacking midfielder from Pretoria Callies.
Polokwane City won the Motsepe Foundation Championship to gain automatic promotion to the top-flight by a narrow margin in goal difference. They ended the season equal on 57 points with Cape Town Spurs.
The Limpopo outfit makes a return to the DStv Premiership following their relegation during the 2019/20 season.

Rise and Shine have already started to strengthen their squad as they look to compete in SA’s topflight with the signing of Oswin Appollis from the Callies.
The offensive midfielder started his journey at Ajax Cape Town Academy and emerged as a star but left before he could make his senior team debut.
He re-appeared at SuperSport United and became an integral part of the DStv Diski Challenge side, banging in goals on a regular basis.
He eventually made his debut and came off the bench on five occasions. While still at Matsatsantsa, he then went out on loan to AmaTuks in the 2020/2021 season, seeking more senior team football.
He left SuperSport to sign with Callies on a two-year deal where he scored six goals in 28 appearances. At Callies, he re-united with a former coach from SuperSport, Kwanele Kopo. And now he seems to be relishing his career again after spending some time in the wilderness.
The promising 21-year-old has represented junior national teams on a consistent basis. He recently also formed part of the under-23 side that failed to qualify for the U23 AFCON showpiece but didn’t play.
This publication can confirm that Oswin Appollis has signed a three-year deal with Rise and Shine, with an option of another year. The agent of Appolis, Lance Davids of Football First confirmed the deal was done.
“Oswin to Polokwane City is a done deal, it will be a three years plus one option,” Davids confirmed to FARPost.
