VFA rope in former Black Leopards coach
Venda Football Academy have roped in former Black Leopards coach Morgan Shivambu into their technical team. According to a report by the Limpopo Mirror, Shivambu comes in at the recommendation of head coach Joel Masutha.
Masutha has been officially confirmed as the new head coach head of the 2023/24 PSL season. He has been in charge on an interim basis since the departure of Simo Dladla in the middle of last season.
BLACK LEOPARDS COACH MORGAN SHIVAMBU MOVES ON
The publication further reports that Alex Muruba, who is a former Leopards physical trainer, had also joined VFA in the same capacity. The two moving to VFA might not be the end of Leopards players or officials jumping ship to their rivals in the near future.
Leopards were relegated to the SAFA ABC Motsepe League for the upcoming season. Speculation is rife that the club has purchased the status of All Stars and could make their way back to the PSL. But the club has insisted that nothing has been concluded.
THIRD TIME LUCKY FOR VENDA FOOTBALL ACADEMY?
VFA, on the other hand, will be going to their third season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. After coming close in 2022, the outcomes were different in the past season as they struggled to compete. Some of the key players are set to leave and the club could be forced to go into the market.
Kgothatso Mariba is on his way to Sekhukhune United while midfielder Tatenda Tavengwa is reportedly in demand from various teams.
This publication has also gathered that VFA might also take some of their home matches to the Malamulele Stadium. They are currently the only remaining team at Thohoyandou Stadium and in the Vhembe region.
