Pretoria Callies to keep Orlando Pirates loanee

Motsepe Foundation Championship side Pretoria Callies have confirmed that they will be keeping an Orlando Pirates loanee for next season.

The young striker was one of the standout players in the first division during the just-ended campaign, scoring a handful of goals. His performances caught the attention of other clubs, both in the DStv Premiership and lower divisions.

Callies boos Moses Malada has informed FARPost that the club has reached an agreement with Pirates to keep Sifiso Luthuli for one more season.

The 22-year-old was on a season-long loan from the PSL giants following his impressive performances for Pirates in DStv Diski Challenge. He also featured for Pele Pele; the feeder team to the Soweto giants in the ABC Motsepe League.

SIPHELELE MTHEMBU GOING NOWHERE

In addition, Malada has also clarified the future of veteran striker Siphelele Mthembu who joined the club during the January transfer window period. Mthembu has also made an impact at the club, netting four goals in 12 matches.

There were a few reports about the future uncertainty of the 35-year-old at the Gauteng club. Malada has since confirmed that the former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates striker will remain at the club.

“With Siphelele Mthembu, his contract has not yet expired. He still has a season with us,” added the chairman.

“So I have heard nothing about him moving but he is a professional player. As far as I know with those players, there is nothing.”

Futhermore, Malada had also confirmed during the same interview that coach Kwanele Kopo would be remaining at the club amid rumours of a move to Chippa United.

Kopo took over while the coun was on the brink of relegation to guide the club to a 10th-place finish.
