Renaldo Leaner’s utmost promise to Sekhukhune United
Sekhukhune United’s new signing Renaldo Leaner has made an utmost promise to Babina Noko after penning a three-year deal with the club.
The DStv Premiership side Sekhukhune announced the acquisition of the goalkeeper on Wednesday from the relegated outfit Maritzburg United.
Sekhukhune signed the shot-stopper to strengthen their goalkeeping department ahead of the 2023/24 season.
RENALDO LEANER CAREER HISTORY
The 25-year-old goalie began his football career at Ajax Cape Town Youth Team back in 2014 at the age of 16. His stellar displays in the junior ranks saw him promoted to the senior team in 2019.
Leaner spent two seasons with the Cape club, as he joined the Team of Choice in August 2021.
At Maritzburg, Cape Town-born played 16 games and kept six clean sheets in the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season.
To add to that, Leaner also represented South Africa at under 20 level in the 2017 COSAFA Cup held in Zambia.
He was also part of the University Sports South Africa Team (USSA) in Taipei and Italy.
“Sekhukhune United Football Club would like to welcome Leaner to the Babina Noko family,” read the club’s statement.
RENALDO LEANER’S UTMOST PROMISE
Leaner has vowed to bring stability and help the team to reach the promised land in the upcoming season.
“I am looking forward to the exciting DStv Premiership League season with Babina Noko,” said Leaner on his unveiling.
“I am going to work extremely hard to contribute to the success of the team while maintaining a good image of the club.
“It is a good challenge to join an excellent and strong team [Babina Noko] which makes me very happy.”
Leaner is the second player to be signed by Sekhukhune United following the acquisition of Jamie Webber from SuperSport United.
