Richards Bay announce technical team changes

Richards Bay FC have announced changes in their technical team as the club is preparing for the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.

The Natal Rich Boyz have announced that the club has parted ways with its head coach Vasili Manousakis and assistant coaches Pitso Dladla and Ronnie Gabriel.

This is due to the club’s struggles in the second round of their debut season in the top-flight.

RICHARDS BAY ANNOUNCE TECHNICAL TEAM CHANGES

“Richards Bay Football Club would like to announce the departure of Head Coach Mr. Vasili Manousakis, Mr. Pitso Dladla and Mr. Ronnie Gabriel, the two assistant coaches,” reads the statement.

“The Club would also like to thank them for their contribution during last season. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors.

“The announcement of the new coaches will be announced in due course.”

Richards Bay started the campaign with the co-coaching system. Dladla and Manousakis were in charge of the team while Gabriel was an assistant coach. They had an impressive first round, exceeding the expectations of many as they sat in the second position on the log standings for the main part of the first round.

However, the rookies dropped the ball in the second round and at some point found themselves in the relegation battle. The club made technical team changes in March with intentions to turn their fortunes around.

They appointed Manousakis as the sole head coach and demoted Dladla to the first assistant coach role while Gabriel continued as the second assistant coach. Under the guidance of Manousakis, the club was able to keep its top-flight status, which was the technical team’s mandate at the start of the season.

As previously reported by FARPost, the KZN outfit has been looking for a new head coach. They were close to securing the services of Josef Zinnbaeur, however, he eventually signed with Raja Casablanca.
