TS Galaxy make decision on Vuyo Mere’s future
TS Galaxy have made a decision on Vuyo Mere’s future ahead of the upcoming 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.
The 39-year-old signed an 18-month deal with the Rockets in January 2022. This was after he parted company with Swallows FC.
His one-and-a-half year contract will be coming to an end at the end of June.
In the past season, Mere had struggles over regular minutes, making only four appearances across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Sead Ramovic has been preferring Marks Munyai and Nkosikhona Radebe for the position.
Sukazi has confirmed that his side will retain Mere’s services for the next season.
TS GALAXY’S DECISION ON VUYO MERE’S FUTURE
“Vuyo is still going to be our team,” Sukazi told FARPost.
“Remember again I did something out of the ordinary. When our club was last on the log during the January 2022 break, we signed one player only and that was Vuyo Mere.
“I was criticised that, ‘you’re signing a defender, you’re facing relegation, this and that…’
“I said this is our reinforcement. He came in and became that reinforcement of extraordinary nature.
“So, for his contribution to a club, we’re forever grateful. And for sure we shall most definitely retain Vuyo.
“He’s got a future at TS Galaxy, it depends on his path, where he wants to go.”
Moreover, the Mpumalanga outfit is going to wave goodbye to its captain Given Msimango. The 26-year-old defender is said to have signed with Kaizer Chiefs.
Galaxy have already lost their number one goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi. According to the reports, the Nquthu-born shot-stopper has already signed with Orlando Pirates
Meanwhile, the left-back Tshegofatso Nyama is rumoured to be heading to Cape Town City as reported by SABC Sport in April.
