Sundowns’ promising defender set for another loan stint

Mamelodi Sundowns are likely to send one of the promising defenders in their books on another loan spell as he leaves Richards Bay FC.

The talented left-back, who like Devine Lunga was not able to cut into the first team was loaned to Richards Bay last season.

Mamelodi Sundowns FC has been opting to loan the promising defender, Siyanda Msani to afford him some game time.

Previously, the left-back who can also play in the midfield was loaned to the University of Pretoria in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

For Richards Bay, the promising defender played 25 matches during the 2022/23 campaign.

FARPost has it on good authority that the PSL Champions are planning to loan Siyanda Msani again.

But this time, he looks set to head to the ambitious side, Stellenbosch FC.

His left-back position at Sundowns is oversubscribed with Aubrey Modiba, Terrence Mashego, and Sifiso Ngobeni well ahead of him.

Even Zimbabwean defender Devine Lunga was loaned last despite him being exceptional.

The Mamelodi Sundowns FC defender, is one of the few players that enjoyed so much game time at Richards Bay in their maiden.

With no goal to his name, Siyanda Msani however stands out as one of the consistent players they had.

His efforts even attracted the attention of Hugo broos, earning him six call-ups to Bafana Bafana.

He however played one game when South Africa beat Botswana 1-0 in September 2022 in friendly match. And he was an unused substitute in two other friendlies.

At Richards Bay the promising defender did not play against his parent club, Mamelodi Sundowns FC.

His loan agreement stipulated that the player will not play against his parent club.

Mamelodi Sundowns FC is one of the PSL clubs that effectively uses this clause. Most of their players who are on loan will not play against them.

The Sundowns academy graduate will be looking to make another good impression at Stellenbosch FC.

He helped Richards Bay retain their DStv Premiership status having ended the season on 13th position with 33 points on their tally.
