Pirates announce four new signings and five exits

Orlando Pirates have announced four new signings and five exits as they’re strengthening a team for the upcoming 2023/24 season.

They have confirmed that they have acquired the signatures of Sephelo Baloni from All-Stars, Katlego Otladisa from Marumo Gallants, Melusi Buthelezi from TS Galaxy and Patrick Maswanganyi from SuperSport United.

They have also parted ways with Ntsako Makhubela, Craig Martin, Nkanyiso Zungu, Kopano Thuntsane, and Ndumiso Mabena.

PIRATES ANNOUNCE FOUR NEW SIGNINGS AND FIVE EXITS

“Orlando Pirates Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Sephelo Baloni (Cape Town All Stars), Katlego Otladisa (Marumo Gallants), Melusi Buthelezi (TS Galaxy) and Patrick Maswanganyi (SuperSport United),” reads a club’s statement.

“The quartet is already with the team and will form part of the preseason preparations. Please join us in welcoming them to the Orlando Pirates family.

“Meanwhile, as we welcome one group, we bid farewell to another.

“Orlandopiratesfc.com can confirm the departures of Ntsako Makhubela, Craig Martin, Nkanyiso Zungu, Kopano Thuntsane, and Ndumiso Mabena.

“The Club would like to wish them the best in their future endeavours.”

It was expected that the Buccaneers would go all out in bolstering their squad as they will be taking part in the CAF Champions League next season.

They secured the spot after finishing the previous campaign in the second position. Meanwhile, FARPost previously reported that Ezimnyama Ngenkani were in pursuit of Golden Arrows’ Sicelokuhle Hlatshwayo.

They are yet to secure the defender’s services.

Moreover, Craig Martin, who’s one of the five departures signed with Chippa United on Tuesday while Ntsako Makhubela is likely to join Arrows permanently.

Mabena leaves the Soweto giants without featuring in a single game in his second stint with the club. Nkanyiso Zungu, who was on loan at Richards Bay FC, departs after the Sea Robbers decided against renewing his contract.
