Siphesihle Ndlovu’s Orlando Pirates future decided
Siphesihle Ndlovu’s future with Orlando Pirates has been decided after his successful loan spell with SuperSport United.
After being starved of action at the Soweto giants, Ndlovu completed a loan switch to SuperSport United in January.
He sparkled under coach Gavin Hunt, convincing the club to keep him permanently. SuperSport finished third in DStv Premiership last season and have openly expressed happiness over the Pietermaritzburg-born midfielder’s contribution.
As they prepare for CAF interclub football, the club has agreed on a deal to keep him permanently.
NDLOVU’S ORLANDO PIRATES FUTURE
“The two clubs have agreed on a permanent deal. He has also signed a permanent contract at SuperSport, so he will not be going back to Orlando Pirates,” a source told FARPost.
Hunt put his versatility in midfield to good use, and the 26-year-old was instrumental in their DStv Premiership campaign.
Matsatsantsa’s Patrick Maswanganyi moved to Pirates, and the club announced his arrival on Tuesday.
In a tweet, Ndlovu seemed to bid farewell to Bucs.
He wrote: “Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, to the institution, management, I’m grateful for the opportunity.”
Ndlovu has previously stated how the switch to Tshwane was meant to revive his career.
“I decided to move and get a deal here at SuperSport because at Pirates, I went 10 games without making a 20-man squad, which is frustrating. If you know that you are one of the better midfielders in the PSL, you rate yourself as a player because of the things you did,” said Ndlovu.
“I have never been in the wrong. I have always behaved and pitched to training on time and always tried to do my part even if I was not playing. It was very easy to approach the management to allow me to move because I told them that I feel like I am falling.
ANNOUNCED THE ARRIVAL OF NANGE
“You have to go with what works for you, and you also need to know if the coach is going to use you. I have not been a regular at Pirates, and it has been a struggle.”
The former Maritzburg United midfielder featured 22 times in all competitions last season and was one of the standout players.
Meanwhile, SuperSport also announced the arrival of Phathutshedzo Nange on Wednesday.
Nange’s contract with Kaizer Chiefs ended, and the club decided not to renew. He reunites with his former coach Hunt after working together at Bidvest Wits and Chiefs.
Nange says he looks forward to a new journey at the three-time premiership champions.
“I worked with coach Gavin before and had a clean working relationship. He is a winning coach by nature and good for his players because we all want to win at the end of the day,” Nange said.
