Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau has made history, clinching yet another trophy with the Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC.
The Club of the Century won the Egyptian Premier League on Monday night after the second-placed Pyramids lost 2-1 to the 10th-placed Ceramica Cleopatra.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly last played a league match on Saturday, winning 2-0 over Al Ittihad where Tau bagged the man of the match accolade. The former Mamelodi Sundowns winger provided an assist for the second goal in the 13th minute.
The Red Devils have won the league with five games to spare as they have played 29 of 34 games of the season.

It’s the maiden league title for Tau who joined Ahly in 2021 from English Premier League outfit Brighton and Hove Albion. In his first season in Egypt, Ahly finished the campaign in third position while Zamalek were crowned champions.
The 29-year-old has hoisted six trophies with the North Africans – two Egyptian Super Cups, Egyptian Cup, CAF Champions League and CAF Super Cup.
Tau played a pivotal role in the club’s success in all competitions this season, especially in the Champions League.
He has played 18 league games, scored three goals and provided one assist. Meanwhile, he has made over 35 appearances in all competitions, scored nine goals and provided six assists.
ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE CLUB INTERESTED IN SIGNING TAU
Tau’s consistent showings have seemingly caught the attention in Europe again. As previously reported by FARPost in May, the Witbank-born has caught the eye of Burnley manager Vincent Kompany.
Should Burnley be successful in securing his services, he would join his fellow Bafana teammate Lyle Foster who signed for the English side in January.
Brøndby IF, Al Hilal and FC Utrecht have also shown interest in the former Club Brugge man.
