Ex-PSL top goal scorer resurfaces at Motsepe Foundation club

After parting ways with the relegated Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila [TTM], 2014/15 PSL top goal scorer Moeketsi Sekola has resurfaced at a new club.

Sekola was part of the TTM side for the better part of last season. But the 34-year-old left towards the end of the campaign.

He featured 15 times and scored five goals in all competitions. FARPost has now spotted the Sekola at Motsepe Foundation Championship side Venda FC.

Another player who featured for Venda FC on Saturday is goalkeeper Rotshidzwa Muleka. Muleka was part of Black Leopards last season.

When asked if the players have now signed, coach of Venda FC Joel Masutha said the club will be making an announcement soon.

“There will be a time wherein the club will make official announcements,” he said.

Sekola has played for several clubs in SA, including Free State Stars, Chippa United and Royal AM.

JOEL MASUTHA POSITIVE AHEAD OF MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON

Masutha was left impressed with how the club has fared so far during the pre-season.

“For the first time in a few months, some of the players were able to play 90 minutes. I was expecting most of them to play only 70 minutes, so this shows that they are a bit ahead of schedule. It’s good for us, it’s good for the team.

“At the same time, it’s also a good time to allow other new players to adapt. There are some new faces and we are anticipating a very good season. Even though we know that all the other 15 teams have the same mandate,”

Meanwhile, the club is also set to sign former Maritzburg United and AmaTuks defender Khomotso Masia. Masia was at Maritzburg at the beginning of the season but was released when Fadlu Davids took over. He joined AmaTuks for the second round of the season.
