Why ex-Chiefs ace believes Dzvukamanja will thrive under Hunt

A former Kaizer Chiefs ace believes the decision to leave Orlando Pirates for SuperSport United is the best resolution for Terrence Dzvukamanja.

The Zimbabwe international did not renew his contract with the Buccaneers, despite their willingness to retain his services.

Dzvukamanja appeared to have struck the right chords with coach José Riveiro towards the end of last season.

The 29-year-old was almost offloaded midway through last season, but the Spaniard somehow retained faith in him.

And he scored eight goals, while also playing a key role in the Pirates’ Nedbank Cup success triumph.

ORLANDO PIRATES LEFT IN AWE

His decision to join SuperSport United, left the Buccaners in awe.

“Terrence Dzvukamanja, approached the Club pleading to be released to play in Zimbabwe to be close to home. In order to address pressing family matter,” said Pirates in a statement.

“After consideration, the club offered to pay his salary whilst sorting out his personal issues at home. The club acceded to this on compassionate grounds.

“The club was therefore surprised by an approach from SuperSport United for the player’s services since the club had made plans to include the player in their CAF Champions League squad.

“With this new development, the club will release Dzvukamanja to SuperSport United.”

WHY MUSHANGAZHIKE BACKS DZVUKAMANJA’S SWITCH TO SUPERSPORT UNITED

However former Kaizer Chiefs ace, Kelvin Mushangazhike thinks Dzvukamanja will thrive well under Gavin Hunt.

For the former Chiefs ace, moving to SuperSport United is the best decision at this stage of his career.

“Gavin [Hunt] is a good coach, one of the best in South Africa. I’m sure, Dzvukamanja [Terrence] will do so well under Hunt,” said Mushangazhike.

“SuperSport United is also a good club for him. They are also playing in Africa’s club competitions, so they present similar oppurtunities just like Pirates next season.

“They are a high competing team at all levels and they have less pressure than that of Orlando Pirates.

“I’m sure, he knows whats best at the moment. The good thing is that he won’t struggle to settle.

“There are other Zimbabweans in the team, George [Chigova], Bhasera [Onismor] and Pfumbidzai [Ronald].”

Although, SuperSport United is yet to reveal Dzvukamanja’s terms, he will become the forth Zimbabwean in their set-up.

The other Zimbabweans in the their set-up are Onismore Bhasera, George Chigova and Ronald Pfumbidzai.
