Agent gives timeline to Terrence Dzvukamanja to SuperSport transfer
Mike Makaab has given an update and a timeline on Terrence Dzvukamanja’s transfer to SuperSport United following his abrupt departure from Orlando Pirates.
The Soweto giants announced the shocking decision on Monday via a statement on their website. They confirmed that Dzvukamanja has left Jose Riveiro’s charges despite a good end to the season.
The Zimbabwe international had asked the club to be released to return home to address pressing family matters.
PIRATES DECIDED NOT TO EXCERCISE OPTION
His deal expired at the end of June, and the Buccaneers decided not to exercise the one-year option.
Dzvukamanja joined Pirates from the now-defunct Bidvest Wits, where he worked under Gavin Hunt. He made 76 appearances for the Sea Robbers, banging in 16 goals in total.
One of those goals was a memorable winner in the Nedbank Cup final last season that endeared him with the Ghost.
Makaab has since told FARPost how his exit from the Buccaneers happened and the links with SuperSport United.
His client was all set to join Matsatsantsa in the January transfer window. However, before a game against Lamontville Golden Arrows, he found himself in the Orlando Pirates team and subsequently scored. This changed his fortunes and a deal that was as good as done.
“Yeah, that is correct. Thereafter, you would have seen that he did tremendously well for Pirates,” Makaab told FARPost.
He went on to give an update on what is currently happening with the Warriors forward.
MIKE MAKAAB GIVES TIMELINE ON SUPERSPORT TRANSFER
“One thing that we weren’t interested in doing is to offer Terrence to other football clubs.
“Terrence had a lot of personal problems, and hopefully those personal problems we can resolve.
“Once it became clear that he wasn’t gonna go back to Orlando Pirates, and this was only just recently, hey, then we re-engaged with SuperSport United in the last 48 hours, and they expressed an interest.
“Yes, absolutely, they are in the process of finalising the deal, we hope that everything can be sorted within the next 48-72 hours,” Makaab said when asked if Dzvukamanja is only focused on joining SuperSport United.
“The best thing is to leave it as is and focus our energies on the way forward for Terrence. I am extremely grateful to the chairman and football club for what they have done for Terrence. Also, in allowing him to move on. I’m not sure another football club will be that accommodating. Again, grateful to the Chairman for his sensitivities to the issues on hand.”
