AmaZulu FC appoint new goalkeeper coach

AmaZulu FC have appointed a new goalkeeper coach following the exit of Musa Langa at the end of the previous season.

Langa, who played for Usuthu in the olden days, reunited with the club in 2018 and started serving in the juniors. He then joined the senior team after the departure of Johan Abselon who’s now at Sekhukhune United.

Langa was sacked along with Ayanda Dlamini who was an interim coach following the redeployment of Romain Folz towards the end of the season.

AmaZulu have now roped in Wayne Sandilands as Langa’s successor. He joins the all-new technical team led by head coach Pablo Franco Martin.

Meanwhile, the KZN outfit also appointed assistant coaches Aitor van den Brule and Siboniso Vilakazi.

Sandilands parted company with Maritzburg United who suffered relegation last season via the PSL Promotional Playoffs. The former Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper started his goalkeeper coaching at Orlando Pirates development structures before he joined Team of Choice.

Moreover, AmaZulu gave chance to the midfielder Celimpilo Ngema who signed for the club in February as a free agent. He then joined them during the pre-season after the end of his contract at Marumo Gallants.

Usuthu fans also saw Tshepang Moremi who recently returned from loan. The 22-year-old spent the last season at the JDR Stars in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

The club also welcomed back the Gabonese goalkeeper Jean-Noël Amonome who spent the last season at Uthongathi FC on a season-long loan. AmaZulu will kick off their campaign with the trip to Pietermaritzburg when they’ll square off with Royal AM at the Harry Gwala Stadium on 5 August.
