Given Msimango shares his thoughts on Chiefs’ transfer activity

New Kaizer Chiefs signing Given Msimango has shared his thoughts about the club’s recent transfer activity.

The 26-year-old defender joined Chiefs from TS Galaxy in July, and he is one of seven new players to arrive at Naturena this winter.

Msimango is looking forward to working with his new teammates, including the likes of Ranga Chivaviro, Pule Mmodi, Tebogo Potsane, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Mduduzi Mdantsane, and Edson Castillo.

RECRUITED QUALITY PLAYERS

“I think the club has recruited quality players, quality individuals that fit what the coach wants and fit the culture of the team,” Msimango told FARPost

He believes that with a few more games together, the team will soon start gelling together.

“It’s just a matter of time before we all get in sync and understand each other a bit better so that when we do step onto the pitch at home, we can play every game to the utmost of our abilities to deliver the result that our supporters deserve which is winning games.”

Msimango also commented on his central defence partner Ditlhokwe on Saturday in the friendly match against Young Africans at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium. Chiefs narrowly lost 1-0 to the reigning Tanzania Premier League champions Yanga.

“It was good playing with TT. Obviously, between ourselves, there are areas of improvement that we need to work on.

“When you concede a goal as a defender, it’s not good. You need to try and keep a lot of clean sheets to help the team win games.

“So we’ll look into that with TT and try and rectify. But we’re slowly building the relationship and looking forward to what is to come.

PRE-SEASON PREPARATIONS CONTINUE

“The partnership can only get better with more games. Not just training but competitive games like this one [against Yanga]. This was just the first of many.”

Msimango is also looking forward to the upcoming season, which he believes will be a very exciting one for Chiefs.

Chiefs continue their pre-season preparation with a tie against Botswana champions Township Rollers over the weekend. They kick off their DStv Premiership campaign with a tie against Chippa United on August 5, 2023.

Msimango is determined to help Chiefs get off to a good start, and he is confident that the club can achieve great things this season.
