Kaizer Chiefs star makes bold promise to chairman

Newly signed Kaizer Chiefs defender Given Msimango has made a bold promise to chairman Dr Kaizer Motaung.

The 26-year-old centre-back, who recently joined Amakhosi, said the current group is determined to help the club end their trophy drought.

“We’re a very ambitious team, this [Tanzania tour] was just a taste of what is to come. The atmosphere was brilliant; it’s what we expect when we come and play in Africa,” he told FARPost.

“We’re happy we came here and shared the passion with the Yanga fans.”

The former TS Galaxy captain is aware Chiefs last won a trophy in 2015 and have been struggling in recent seasons. However, Msimango believes that the club is on the right track, and he is confident they can start winning trophies again soon.

MSIMANGO Determined to Win Trophies for CHIEFS Chairman

“[We want] to win each and every game we play, win cups, win the league. We’re a very ambitious team. The project that we have is very ambitious.

“We owe it to the management and our chairman [Dr Motaung] to bring some silverware this season.”
Msimango, however, highlighted that they would be focusing on their journey as they continue to build.

“It’s a steady process; we’re not rushing anything. We’re running our own race. Back home, people are watching us and expecting a lot from us. We will deliver. That I can promise.”

Msimango is one of seven players signed by Chiefs to bolster their squad. Edson Castillo, Mduduzi Mdantsane, Pule Mmodi, Ranga Chivaviro, Tebogo Potsane and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe have all joined the Soweto giants.

Msimango believes they have a good team and are capable of challenging for silverware.
However, he is under no illusions as he acknowledges the need to keep working hard and believing in themselves.

His bold promise would likely be met with excitement by Chiefs fans, who are eager to see the club return to winning ways. The defender is a talented player, and he has the potential to be a key player for Chiefs in the years to come.

If Msimango can fulfil his promise, it would be a major boost for Chiefs and their fans. The club has been through a rough patch in recent years, but his promise gives them hope that better days are ahead.
