Jessica Motaung on Chiefs’ new Kappa-designed kits
Kaizer Chiefs marketing director Jessica Motaung has expressed her excitement about the club’s new Kappa kits ahead of the 2023/24 PSL season.
Chiefs unveiled their new Kappa-designed home and away jerseys on Tuesday 25 July in Johannesburg.
In attendance were the members of the media, club officials, club legends, sponsors and the club’s players.
The two brands are familiar with each other. They once worked together in 1989 up to 1996 before the deal expired. The reunion will see the Italian sports brand work with Amakhosi for the next five years.

According to the club’s statement, the home kit is inspired by the club’s rich heritage and tradition. It pays tribute to the club, its legacy, to the supporters and the players who represent the club with a sense of pride.
The green away kit symbolises the natural beauty of South Africa. The gold trim is a sign of victory and the club’s successes since it was founded in 1970.
“We are thrilled to unveil our new jerseys in conjunction with Kappa. These designs epitomise our brand identity and the loyalty of our supporters,” said Motaung.
“We believe that these kits will not only inspire our players on the field but also resonate with the Amakhosi faithful in a profound way.
The club further communicated that Amakhosi faithful can purchase the new jerseys from Wednesday, 26 July.
The merchandise will be available at leading retail stores, Kappa stores nationwide, Kaizer Chiefs retail store at the Village in Naturena, and online at www.kcdigistore.com.
The players will don the home kit for the first time when they host Chippa United in their first game of the season at Moses Mabhida Stadium. Kickoff on Sunday 6 August is at 3 pm.
