Moroka Swallows hijack Kaizer Chiefs’ target 

Moroka Swallows have hijacked Kaizer Chiefs’ target following weeks of speculation about his move to Amakhosi.

Malawian striker Gabadinho Mhango has resurfaced at the Dube Birds amid Chiefs transfer links.

Mhango received his goodbyes from his former club AmaZulu. The 30-year-old forward was put on the transfer list by Usuthu ahead of the new season.

The ex-Orlando Pirates striker was not the only player who left Usuthu ahead of the new season. 

Other players who have been released by the KwaZulu-Natal outfit are Lehlohonolo Majoro, Dumisani Zuma, Keagan Buchanan, Rally Bwalya, Samkelo Mgwazela, Guily Manziba, Jean-Noel Amonome, Thendo Mukumela, Lankie Khoza, Thabo Qalinge, Sbongakonke Ndlovu, Kabelo Makola, Sphelele Zulu and Jody February.

MOROKA SWALLOWS HIJACK KAIZER CHIEFS TARGET 

According to Maswaiswai chairman David Mogashoa, Mhango has penned a two-year deal with the club. 

The deal was concluded this morning, where the club chairman met with the player’s agent, Mike Makaab.

Mhango is one player who will be expected to add the much-needed experience and add value to Swallows’ striking force in the new season.

Earlier today, Swallows also confirmed that they have acquired the services of forward Tshegofatso ‘Mbawula’ Mabasa from Orlando Pirates.

Mhango and Mabasa are one of the many signings by Maswaiswai in this transfer window period after the acquisition of Daweron Van Rhyn, Lantshene Phalane and Andile Jali from Upington City, Royal AM and Mamelodi Sundowns respectively.

They have also completed the signings of Victor Bakah and Falakhe Tshanini, both from Uthongathi FC. Keenan Phillips from SuperSport United.

MOROKA SWALLOWS TO FACE GOLDEN ARROWS IN THE FIRST MATCH OF THE SEASON 

Swallows will commence the DStv Premiership season against Golden Arrows on Saturday, 5 August 2023. 

The game will take place at Mpumalanga Stadium with the kick-off set for 15:00.
