Marumo Gallants rope in a former Richards Bay coach

With just a few days before the start of the season, Marumo Gallants have roped in a former Richards Bay coach. Gallants who were relegated from the DStv Premiership will start life in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

As it has been widely reported, they made major changes to their technical team with the departure of Dylan Kerr and Raymond Mdaka.

The club has also relocated to the Gauteng province from Limpopo but their official home venue is not yet known.

But this publication has now gathered that former Richards Bay coach Pitso Dladla is set to take over as head coach.

Dladla, who was an assistant, parted ways with Richards Bay at the end of last season together with head coach Vasili Manousakis. An informant has told FARPost that Dladla was introduced to the players on Monday and immediately began with his duties.

“Troughton and Mosala look like they are gone. It is coach Pitso [Dladla] who was in charge izolo [yesterday],” said the mole.

It also looks like Bafana Bafana assistant coach at the COSAFA Cup Raymond Mdaka might have made a decision against returning to the club.

Mdaka was in charge last season and was instrumental in helping the side reach the CAF Confederations Cup semifinal. They eventually lost to Tanzania giants Young Africans.

Meanwhile, as it was reported by this publication, King Ndlovu has rejoined the club after parting ways with Maritzburg United. Marumo will open up their 2023/24 season with an away encounter against Casric Stars on 27 August.
