Kaizer Chiefs cuts ties with Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana
Kaizer Chiefs have announced the departure of striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, ending months of speculation regarding the future of the Burundian international.
Amakhosi made a decision on Bimenyimana’s future following speculations about his departure on Wednesday, 16 August 2023.
The striker parted ways with the Soweto giants after one season. He never featured in any game in the new PSL campaign for Chiefs.

“Kaizer Chiefs have come to an agreement with striker, Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana to part ways after one season. We wish him well in his future,” read the club’s statement.
The Burundian forward played 21 games for Amakhosi across all competitions and managed to score eight goals in the process.
The 25-year-old striker was signed by the Glamour Boys as a free agent in August 2022.
He was previously in the books of Kaysar FC in Kazakhstan, whom he parted company with in July 2022 before signing for Chiefs.
Bimenyimana became the second player from Burundi to play for Kaizer Chiefs. The first player to join Amakhosi from Burundi was Velary Nahayo. He joined the side in June 2008 from Jomo Cosmos.
BONFILS-CALEB BIMENYIMANA’S DEBUT FOR KAIZER CHIEFS
The striker made his debut for Chiefs during their 0-0 draw against AmaZulu in a DStv Premiership clash in September 2022.
His first goals were against SuperSport United, where Chiefs defeated Matsatsantsa 2-1. Bimenyimana scored a brace on the day.
To add to that, Bimenyimana made history by becoming the first Chiefs player in the PSL era to score three goals from the penalties in a league match when Amakhosi got the better of Stellenbosch FC with a 3-1 scoreline in October 2022.
Bimenyimana is now free to join any team of his choice and get his mojo back.
