Morgan Mammila: ‘I don’t care who you are’

Chippa United head coach Morgan Mammila has sent a strong message to Mamelodi Sundowns ahead of their meeting in the DStv Premiership.

The Chilli Boys host the league champions on Saturday, 19 August, at the Nelson Mandela Stadium at 8:00 pm. Mammila was speaking after their match against Orlando Pirates on Tuesday night, where his troops held the Buccaneers 1-1.

The Soweto giants loanee Goodmen Mosele was the standout performer as he scooped the man of the match accolade. He haunted his parent club, scoring the equaliser for the home side in the second half.

Meanwhile, Mammila also managed to get a draw against Chiefs last week at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. Having denied both Chiefs and Pirates the victories, he believes they can do the same against Rulani Mokwena’s men.

He insisted they will give Sundowns a run for their money.

“Let them come; we’re waiting for them; the fixture says that we have to play three top teams in a matter of five games,” Mammila said in the post-match with SuperSport TV.

“They’re next, they will get the same thing. No parking of the bus, pound to pound.

“I don’t care who you are, we’re equal here.”

Prior to facing Pirates, Chippa played a goalless draw with TS Galaxy. They currently sit 10th on the log standings, having collected just three points from three games.

Meanwhile, the log leaders, Sundowns have won all their three games. They began their campaign with Sekhukhune United, winning 2-1 away from home.

Thereafter, they hosted Kaizer Chiefs at the Lucas Moripe Stadium and won 2-1 courtesy of the late winner from Neo Maema.

This past weekend, they shifted focus to MTN8, where they brushed aside Moroka Swallows with a narrow 1-0 victory.

On Tuesday, they continued their winning run in all competitions, hammering Golden Arrows 4-0 in a league match.
