AmaZulu FC complete 10th signing of the window

AmaZulu FC are continuing to reinforce their squad after wrapping up the tenth signing of the transfer window, FARPost can exclusively reveal.

Usuthu are having a squad revamp after they finished in 12th position on the league standings last season. They also let go of the technical team led by then interim head coach Ayanda Dlamini.

Meanwhile, the previous Technical Advisor Romain Folz, who was spearheading AmaZulu before Dlamini took over, tendered his resignation. The KZN side also has a new coach in Pablo Franco Martin who has begun his journey in South Africa with three draws in the DStv Premiership.

The club has taken another step to back him with another addition to his disposal after they signed the Guinea international Yakhouba Gnagna Barry from Horoya AC.

The 25-year-old plays as a striker, a position that has posed challenges for Martin’s side lately with the side failing to score a single goal in their last three games. The club’s president Sandile Zungu confirmed to this publication that the Yakhouba Barry is currently flying to South Africa to join his new teammates.

“Yakhouba Gnagna Barry gave us problems when we played Horoya in the CAF Champions League,” Sandile Zungu told FARPost.

“We’ve managed to sign him. As I speak to you he’s on his way to South Africa. He got a Visa already.”

The centre-forward caught the attention of Usuthu when they played with Horoya in the CAF Champions League during the 2021/22 season under Benni McCarthy’s guidance.

According to Zungu, Yakhouba Barry was problematic whenever facing their defence. In the striking department, he joins the likes of Bongi Ntuli, Augustine Kwem, Junior Dion and Victor Letsoalo.
