Goodman Mosele’s injury status ahead of Royal AM clash

Chippa United head coach Morgan Mammila has provided the latest update on the injury of midfielder Goodman Mosele ahead of their DStv Premiership clash against Royal AM.

Mosele joined Chippa from Orlando Pirates at the start of the current season on a season-long loan.

The former Baroka FC captain struggled for game time at the Soweto giants last season under Jose Riveiro. He was competing with Miguel Timm, Ben Motshwari, Thabang Monare, Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo and Makhehleni Makhaula for a place in the starting line-up at Pirates.

Mosele has already hit the ground running at Chippa after picking up two back-to-back Man-of-the-Match awards for his performances in the opening three games of the league.

The midfield maestro came back to haunt Pirates after scoring against them when they drew 1-1 with the Chilli Boys on the 15th of August.

Mosele missed the previous Chippa game in the Premiership against Cape Town Spurs due to an injury.

The Gqeberha-based side coach, Morgan Mammila, has now provided an update on Mosele’s injury.

“He’s still out of the team due to an injury, we don’t want to risk him. We still have 25 matches to go,” Mammila said.

“We can’t risk him with one or two matches, there are players who can play at his position, We’ve got a good squad.

“If one player goes out, you won’t even notice that a player is out. It’s a matter of taking over from where Mosele left off.”

The Chippa Mpengesi-owned team picked up their first victory of the season in the league against Cape Town Spurs last Friday.

They’ll be looking to make it two back-to-back victories when they face Royal AM on Wednesday at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. The match is scheduled for 19:30 kickoff.
