Komphela details what makes Tshegofatso Mabasa a complete striker
Moroka Swallows coach Steve Komphela has detailed what makes Tshegofatso Mabasa a complete striker.
Mabasa joined the Soweto side on a season-long loan from rivals Orlando Pirates ahead of the current PSL campaign.
With the Dube birds, the 26-year-old seems to have found his groove, confidence and scoring boots.
In five matches in all competitions, he has found the back of the net three times as the club lay sixth in the DStv Premiership log standings.
WHAT MAKES TSHEGOFATSO MABASA A COMPLETE STRIKER
According to his mentor, Mabasa lacks nothing and he has the potential to become a great striker.
“Tshegofatso Mabasa, the guy is talented, he’s something else. Any high ball coming to him, he holds up play, controls the ball, and brings the team closer in and around the box,” said Komphela.
“I’m saying Tshego what is it with you? What’s lacking? He lacks nothing. And if one were to start thinking and saying where do you want Mabasa to go? He’s ok here.
STEVE KOMPHELA ON WHERE TSHEGOFATSO MABASA SHOULD BE PLAYING
Komphela further made a big claim on where Mabasa should be playing his football saying maybe ‘abroad’.
“We are so extremely lucky to have him because the next question would be whether he should be somewhere else, maybe abroad.
“The guy has got finesse and he’s an intelligent person, he can handle a lot of dynamics as well,” he added.
Mabasa is expected to be in action when Swallows host Richards Bay FC on 15 September at Dobsonville Stadium after the international break.
