Vusumuzi Vilakazi inching closer to his next move
Former Golden Arrows coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi is inching closer to his next move, just days after leaving the KZN outfit.
Vilakazi shocked the football fraternity on Sunday when he announced his resignation from Arrows. This is despite the excellent start to the season by Arrows who are currently second in the DStv Premiership behind Mamelodi Sundowns. They have collected 10 points from the five matches with Vilakazi in charge together with Mabhuti Khenyeza.

In a Facebook post that has since been deleted, but was published on IOL, Vilakazi thanked the club’s Chairlady Mato Madlala for the 20 years he has spent at the club.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity I received at Golden Arrows,” he wrote.
“Thank you so much Mato Madlala for all you’ve done. The support you have given me in the 20 years I’ve been in the system. I will forever cherish the moments with Abafana Bes’thende. May Jehovah’s will be done,” said Vilakazi.
The club also released a short statement on Monday, confirming Vilakazi’s departure. “Lamontville Golden Arrows accepts coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi’s resignation,” said the club. But there has not been any indication of who is likely to replace Vilakazi or if Khenyeza will work as a solo head coach.

This publication has since established that Chippa wants to rope in the 40-year-old as an assistant to head coach Morgan Mammila.
Mammila is currently assisted by Siyabulela Gwambi. Prior to the start of the season, the club was strongly linked with Kwanele Kopo for the second assistant coach role. But that move fell through.
The Chilli Boys are currently 12 on the DStv Premiership log after six matches. They have only won one with three draws and two defeats and are four points above the promotion/relegation position.
