AmaZulu FC target want-away Cape Town City midfielder?

AmaZulu FC are believed to be in pursuit of the want-away Cape Town City midfielder as the PSL deadline day is drawing closer.

It appears Usuthu aren’t done with the process of rebuilding a team for a new man in the driving seat, Pablo Franco Martin. Meanwhile, AmaZulu have already made nine additions to their squad and are still assessing more players.

The KZN outfit parted company with 15 players at the end of the previous campaign. There might be more exits with players like the midfielder Mswati Mavuso no longer training with the Spanish tactician’s team.

With this being the case, Martin has an eye on extra additions.

FARPost has been led to believe that Usuthu are looking to make a move for Thabo Nodada, who has fallen down the pecking order at City.

AMAZULU FC INTERESTED IN CAPE TOWN CITY MIDFIELDER THABO NODADA?

“Thabo is frustrated at City. He hasn’t been starting regularly in the past two seasons,” a source close to the player said.

“Remember when he was on form, Sundowns wanted him and City didn’t let him go. Now, AmaZulu are interested and he’s keen to go.”

In five matches that the Citizens have played this season, Nodada was an unused sub in two matches while he was brought on late in the other three.

For the time being, it is uncertain whether Usuthu have opened a dialogue with the Cape Town-based side.

Meanwhile, AmaZulu have already signed three midfielders in this window, Rowan Human, Celimpilo Ngema and Siyanda Hlangabeza. Further, Phumlani Ntshangase and Nkanyiso Zungu are training with the side hoping to earn contracts.

Other than the above-mentioned, Nodada would also have to compete with the likes of Ethan Brooks and George Maluleka, should he switch to AmaZulu.

Martin’s side has played five DStv Premiership matches so far, winning one, losing one and drawing three. They are 14th on the log standings with six points collected.
