AmaZulu FC make decision on Nkanyiso Zungu

AmaZulu FC have made a decision on Nkanyiso Zungu who has been training with the club since last week.

The midfielder has been searching for a new home since he left Orlando Pirates in June. He didn’t return to the Sea Robbers, having spent the previous season on loan at Richards Bay FC.

As previously reported, he spent the past two months at Royal Ranch with Royal AM. However, Thwihli Thwahla couldn’t sign him due to the FIFA ban imposed on the club

FARPost understands Zungu has been let go by AmaZulu as he stopped training with the club on Tuesday. When asked about an update on trialists, Usuthhu coach Pablo Franco Martin admitted that they have been assessing some players, however, he said they have not signed any.

Phumlani Ntshangase is said to have impressed the coach while it is unclear what will be the club’s decision on Vincent Oburu.

AMAZULU FC DECIDE AGAINST SIGNING NKANYISO ZUNGU

“When making the decision, it’s not only about the coach, it’s also about the club,” he said.

“There’s a president, there’s board members, there’s a CEO and many people involved in decision-making.

“From my side as a coach and from the technical point of view with the technical staff, we are delivering information that we have to deliver not only about these players but also some [trialists] that we are checking in case they can come for assessments or to sign them.”

‘WE HAVE NOT SIGNED YET’

“But in the meantime, we are working, this is a long-term project. We are improving the team, we are improving the players we have. So, it’s true that there are players [training] with the team but we have not signed yet.

“We will keep going, we will keep working with the players we have, if any player is coming, he’s going to be very welcome. He’s going to help us get targets in terms of results but if not, I’m happy with the guys we have.

“We will push as much as possible.”
