Lesiba Nku identifies element of his game that is an asset for Sundowns
Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Lesiba Nku has identified the element of his game that is an asset for the club.
Nku joined Sundowns from Marumo Gallants on a long-term deal ahead of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season. Gallants was relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season.
The left-footed attacker was a surprise signing by Sundowns as he was little-known by the supporters.
Nku has already proven his worth in Sundowns colours after scoring two goals in six matches he has played in all competitions so far.
LESIBA NKU REVEALS WHICH ELEMENT OF HIS GAME IS AN ASSET TO SUNDOWNS
“My speed serves as an asset in outrunning defenders and it is an area I’m determined to work hard on to ensure I use it to my full potential,” Nku said on Mamelodi Sundowns Magazine.
“I believe that my pace can generate scoring opportunities and will create an additional dynamic with the strikers.”
Nku further identified his Sundowns teammate as the toughest player he faced during his days at Gallants.
“It has to be Khuliso Mudau. He is an extremely physical and strong defender, in one-on-one situations, he’s firm and a nightmare for the opposition.
“Playing against him last season was never easy as he always made it challenging for me to find spaces or create scoring opportunities.”
The former Polokwane City star faces stiff competition for the starting berth in the star-studded Sundowns team.
Nku competes with Neo Maema, Caston Sirino, Junior Mendieta, Lucas Ribeiro Costa, Thapelo Maseko, and Themba Zwane for a place in the starting line-up.
Meanwhile, the Tshwane giants have had a perfect start to the new DStv Premiership campaign. They won all six of their opening league games to go top of the log with 18 points.
