Peter Shalulile breaks another PSL record
Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile has broken another PSL record after they thrashed Burundi outfit Bumamuru FC.
The Tshwane giants returned to winning ways as they kept their unbeaten run intact. Sundowns are unbeaten in nine matches following eight wins and a draw.
On Friday, they outclassed Bumamuru 4-0 in the CAF Champions League, second preliminary round, first leg in Tanzania.
Last time out, Masandawana played out to a 1-1 draw against rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN8 semifinal, first leg.
Shalulile came in as a second half substitute replacing red-hot Lucas Ribeiro after recovering from a hamstring injury that kept him on the sidelines for over a month.
Upon his return, the goal-scoring machine made an immediate impact once he was on the pitch. He found the back of the net 10 minutes after his introduction.
In the 2021/22 season, the former Highlands Park talisman came close to breaking Collins Mbesuma’s 35-goal record in all competitions as he netted 30 goals .

According to stats by Opta Jabu the striker nicknamed ‘Sha Sha’ is now the highest scoring foreign player in the PSL and is the quickest.
The 29 year-old has now found the back of the net 105 times from 210 games in six seasons. He surpassed former Mozambique and Jomo Cosmos striker Tico Tico Bucuane who had held the record with 104 goals

In PSL all-time leading scorers chats, the Namibian international now sits at number four. At the summit is ex-Moroka Swallows striker Siyabonga Nomvethe with 123 goals.
Second on the top scorers list is the duo former Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs stars Daniel Mudau and Mabhuti Khanyeza with 110 respectively.
