Kaizer Jr reveals the reason behind Mahlatsi’s contract termination
Kaizer Chiefs sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr has revealed why they have decided to terminate the contract of midfielder Kamohelo Mahlatsi just six games into the new DStv Premiership season.
Both parties succumbed to a decision to part ways on mutual agreement.
The Glamour Boys announced the shocking decision on Monday, 18 September 2023 via a statement on their website.
The club’s sporting director Motaung Jr confirmed that Mahlatsi is heading towards the exit door at the club, as first reported by FARPost.
Mahlatsi signed for Chiefs in June 2022 from Moroka Swallows. The Sebokeng-born had signed with Amakhosi until 2025.
KAIZER CHIEFS OFFICIAL STATEMENT
“Kamohelo has given his best at all times while a Chiefs player and, following consultation with his representatives, we decided to release him with a view to him finding more regular game time somewhere else,” said the club’s sporting director, Kaizer Motaung Jr.
“We appreciate his efforts and wish him all of the best for the future.”
In the current campaign, Mahlatsi never featured in any match for the Soweto giants.
Last season, the midfielder played only seven games across all competitions for Amakhosi, without any goals or assists.
The skillful player also turned out for SuperSport United, the University of Pretoria, and Ubuntu Cape Town FC.
Mahlatsi is now a free agent and he can join any team of his choice.
The player will be hoping that his next move will yield fruitful results, as he wants to revive his football career.
AMAKHOSI’S NEXT ASSIGNMENT
Chiefs will face SuperSport United on Wednesday, 20 September 2023 in a league clash.
The match will take place at Peter Mokaba Stadium. The game will start at 19:30.
As things stand, Amakhosi are placed fifth on the DStv Premiership log standings with eight points from six outings.
