Ntseki sheds light on Chiefs’ lack of killer instinct

Kaizer Chiefs Molefi Ntseki has identified reasons for the club’s lack of killer instinct in front of goal.

The Soweto giants have been wasteful in front of goal since the start of the new PSL campaign.

Amakhosi has played eight games across all competitions. In those eight matches, the Ntseki-coached side only managed to score nine goals and conceded five in the process.

The former Bafana Bafana mentor has analysed the factors that he believes may be contributing to their goalscoring problems.

Ntseki was speaking ahead of their DStv Premiership clash against SuperSport United. The showdown will take place at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium, in Polokwane. The kick-off will start at 19:30.

MOLEFI NTSEKI WEIGHS IN ON KAIZER CHIEFS’ SCORING PROBLEMS

“Maybe it is more of a mental issue in terms of composure, maybe it’s a technical issue in terms of the execution,” said Ntseki.

“Maybe it’s a tactical issue in terms of understanding the positioning of the player in possession, or the position of the defender or goalkeeper. It’s a work in progress; we believe we are going in the right direction. The setbacks don’t leave us happy.”

MOLEFI NTSEKI CONFIDENT THEY WILL OVERCOME THE GOALSCORING SETBACK

Ntseki went on to reveal that they are working hard at training to try to solve the matter of goalscoring.

“But we still believe we can overcome these setbacks and be able to get the maximum results we are working for at training every day, in every session,” He added.

As things stand, the Glamour Boys are placed seventh on the DStv Premiership log standings. They have managed to accumulate eight points after six games.

Amakhosi are on a four-game unbeaten run and Ntseki is happy that his side is not conceding many goals despite their failure to convert their chances.

Ntseki will be eyeing positive results when they take on Matsatsantsa and hopes that they convert their chances tonight.
