Molefi Ntseki explains Potsane and Mdantsane absence against Royal AM

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki has explained the absence of Tebogo Potsane and Mduduzi Mdantsane against Royal AM.

Chiefs played to a frustrating goalless draw against Royal AM in the DStv Premiership on Saturday afternoon.

The Soweto giants missed numerous goal-scoring opportunities, and on a few occasions, they were denied a goal by the goal post.

Chiefs were without Potsane and Mdantsane, who have been regular starters since the start of the season.

The duo joined Amakhosi at the start of the 2023/24 campaign from Royal AM and Cape Town City, respectively.

Potsane has featured in five matches in all competitions for Chiefs and contributed two assists, while Mdantsane played six games, chipping in with two assists.

MOLEFI NTSEKI SHED LIGHT ON THE ABSENCE OF POTSANE AND MDANTSANE

Ntseki has shed light on the notable absence of Potsane and Mdantsane, explaining that it was just a tactical rotation.

“I think we are doing a very important tactical rotation of our players, and it also depends on the approach for the day,” Ntseki said.

“When you look at Potsane and Mdantsane, they’ve been playing all the games that we played this season. Unfortunately, the level of freshness was very important.

“So, we were giving fresher players an opportunity to play. Mdantsane and Potsane have been part of the training this week.

“They are training and preparing for the next matches. So rotation is important because if ever you have challenges either suspensions or injuries, then you’ll have a player who’s not ready to play.

“They have done very well in the past matches. Today we gave other players a chance, and I think they also did very well.

“So, it’s a fair competition we have for the first 11 or to be in the first 20,” the coach concluded.
