Sandile “AK47” Ndlovu weighs in on Sundowns vs Pirates clash
Sandile “AK47” Ndlovu has weighed in on the anticipated DStv Premiership clash between two foes, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night [7:30pm].
Last season, Sundowns beat Pirates in two league matches, winning 2-0 and 1-0.
Pirates’ win against Downs last campaign was in the MTN8 semi-finals second leg with a 3-0 at Peter Mokaba Stadium with their fans celebrating like they had won the cup final.
And despite believing that Pirates are the only team that will stop Sundowns from winning their seventh straight league title this season, Ndlovu, who played for the Brazilians from 2003 until 2007, does not think the Soweto giants stand a chance of beating the on-form Rulani Mokwena’s team on Wednesday.
“Today is a big day for two big teams with lots of expectations,” Sandile Ndlovu told FARPost.
“It is early to say Sundowns are unstoppable as the season is a marathon. But Sundowns have shown that they are a good team, and they understand each other.

“Sundowns are playing collective football, which is why they are winning. But Pirates depend on individuals like Monnapule Saleng. If Saleng is not in form, they struggle. But Pirates coach Jose Riveiro is trying to build a team, and they are promising.
“I see Pirates as the team that will challenge Sundowns for the title this season. But on Wednesday, they must forget if they think they can beat Sundowns.”
He added: “Sundowns have been playing with confidence, and I see them winning tomorrow. I am not saying they are unstoppable, but they play as a team.
“Peter Shalulile has not played, but the new guys have been doing well. Pirates are showing some strength and promise, and they will be right when the season progresses.”
Downs started the new season on good form, winning all their six opening league matches and are sitting at the top of the log with 18 points.
On the other hand, Pirates have won two, drew one and lost one in their four league matches and are on seven points.
