Molefi Ntseki coy on Luke Fleurs situation at Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki has held his cards close to his chest when queried whether the club is going to sign Luke Fleurs.

Fleurs has been training with Chiefs after terminating his contract with Tshwane side SuperSport United in the past few days.

The highly-rated centre-back, Fleurs is on trial at Chiefs in a bid to secure a move before the PSL transfer window closes on Friday 22 September at midnight.

A picture of Fluers surfaced on social media during a training session with the rest of the Amakhosi squad at the Kaizer Chiefs Village, Naturena.

Last season the 23-year-old had some game time partnering with Thulani Hlatshwayo and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe at SuperSport. All-in-all, he made 11 appearances in all competitions.

This season he fell out of favour with head coach Gavin Hunt. This was after the arrival of experienced Siyanda Xulu and Ime Okon, who was promoted from the DStv Diski Challenge team.

MOLEFI NTSEKI ON LUKE FLEURS

The former Bafana Bafana mentor didn’t disclose whether Fleurs will be their latest addition to the team. He only said that if any quality player is available on the market and is affordable they will sign him.

“Can we just keep it like that and agree that any quality player that is available and we can afford to bring to the club we’ll do that,” said Ntseki at the PSL headquarters.

“But as of now, I think we’ve got good quality players that have given us the stability that we need. When you talk of Luke Fleurs I think we all know his qualities.

“He has been in the Under-17 national team, I had an opportunity to work with him when he was 16. So here we come across again Luke Fleurs in the PSL, let’s wait and see what comes out of this.

“But at the same time, we have good quality players at the club and I think defensively, we have been doing very well.”

LUKE FLEURS MAY BECOME KAIZER CHIEFS’ 10TH SIGNING

Chiefs have already brought in Mduduzi Mdantsane, Pule Mmodi, Tebogo Potsane, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Sphiwe Msimango, Ranga Chivaviro, Edson Castillo and Jasond Gonzalez.

Sibongiseni Mthethwa was the latest addition from Stellenbosch FC after the club announced his arrival signing a three-year deal.
