Sasol League National Championship: All you need to know

The stage is set for the 2023 edition of the Sasol League National Championship, which will take place at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein.

The tournament will be played between 16-22 October 2023, with Hollywoodbets Super League spots up for grabs.

Nine teams, who are champions in their respective provinces, will battle it out on the green grass for the all-important two top teams.

Group A consists of Sasol Juventus from Mpumalanga, Royal Queens from North West, and a Gauteng Team, as the stream is ongoing.

Royal Wizards of the Northern Cape, University of Fort Hare from the Eastern Cape and Lindelani Ladies (KZN) complete Group B.

In the final group, there is the University of Cape Town from the Western Cape. Limpopo side Ramatlaohle Ladies, and Ixias FC from Free State.

NINE TEAMS TO FIGHT FOR PROMOTION TO SUPER LEAGUE

As revealed by SAFA and Sasol during the draw that was conducted on Tuesday in Sandton, the champion of the National Championship will walk away with a grand prize of R200 000.00.

The team that seals the second spot will pocket, R100 000.00, while the third-placed team will win R60 000.00.

It is worth noting that the top two teams will be promoted to the Hollywoodbets Super League.

Addressing the media at the launch, SAFA CEO Lydia Monyepao said: “We thank our long-time partners Sasol for continuing to support women’s football for so many years. And always putting their money where their mouth is.

“The Sasol League tournament has been a massive foundation And has produced an unending supply of players. This priceless pipeline has made so many dreams possible.”

The National Champs will consist of nine group stages and three knock-out games. The format is as follows: Group Stages (17 – 19 October). Broadcast on Sasol and SAFA social and digital media platforms. Semi-final (20 October). Broadcast on SABC Sport Channel. Final (22 October). Broadcast on SABC 1.”
